About the bench
HiFiDECK Studio · two engineers, one bench
Eighty-eight
years at the bench
The bench is run by two veteran engineers. Zhu Haitao has repaired cassette decks for 43 years, since 1983, when parts were scarce and service manuals scarcer. Hu Hua has been at it even longer — 45 years. Every working deck was a lesson.
Together that bench has seen thousands of machines — each one disassembled, understood, and brought back to life. No shortcuts, no mystery fixes: a deck leaves only when it measures right and sounds right.
Today the work is the same. Careful. Thorough. Personal. The bench does not list a deck it would not keep, and every question is answered by the person holding the screwdriver.

Who's behind the bench
- Zhu Haitao · 43 years
- Head of the bench. Transport alignment, azimuth calibration and the final listening test on every deck shipped.
- Hu Hua · 45 years
- Senior technician and parts hunter. Heads, motors, mechanisms — and the source for rare spares across Japan's golden era.
THE WORKSHOP AND THE COMPANY
Analog Deck Works is the export front of the HiFiDECK cassette studio in Nanjing — a small, independent workshop. It is the private passion project of the two engineers and is entirely separate from NanJing MingFu Electronics Co., Ltd, our registered company (founded March 2008), which trades in LG and Sharp commercial hotel TVs, refrigerators and laundry equipment as an authorized agent. The company's business does not trade cassette decks, and the studio's work is not part of the company.
